Chloe has joined the Apptaura team on the Kickstart Scheme. With so many youngsters struggling to settle back into normality, and with jobs so hard to find, Chloe has been charting her experiences of working for the App Development Agency Apptaura. This is her Kickstart diary month two entry, detailing her latest experiences.
Five words that describe your experience and journey with Apptaura this month:
- Attention to detail
- Open-minded
- Honest
- Focused
- Growth
This month I have definitely developed more skills, knowledge and experience that have helped me in both my professional and personal growth.
What have you been working on this month?
I have been working on editing posts in WordPress to be published on our website and on collecting the analytics from our LinkedIn, Twitter and Google accounts.
Tell us something new you have learned this month:
I learnt how to create a pivot table! Sure, I had to watch a couple of YouTube videos to finally figure it out, but I got there in the end. I also realised that I can ask for help if I am not sure about a particular task – I’ve learnt that I am a very independent individual.
Share something that you have found difficult or tricky over the last month:
I have found managing my time a bit difficult this month. I think it’s been because of a lack of planned structure when I am working independently. So I’ve been working on prioritising tasks and their level of importance.
What advice would you give to someone who isn’t sure about a Kickstart placement?
It sounds a bit cheesy but when you’re finding out about the different companies and jobs on offer, listen to your instincts. That’s what I did and it’s worked out well. I feel I’m in the right place, where I need to be.
What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important?
I am learning about analytics which is important because it shows how well our audience is interacting with us, including any potential leads. It’s a vital part of what we do as it allows us to see what works, what doesn’t and enables us to change or adapt our methods to be more effective and successful.
What have you learnt about your team?
We had some company photos done recently and there was a lot of muscle tensing when the camera was out And in my office it’s all gone a bit football crazy – our Marketing Manager and CEO haven’t shut up about it all month!!
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I’m an early bird, even if I have had a late night.
Thinking back to your first month, and the challenges at the beginning reflect on how you’re feeling now?
Initially I felt nervous. Now I am feeling much more confident in myself and the people around me. I’m sure it will continue to grow as I become more familiar with the team and expectations at work.
